EVERGOODS MPL30 (Mountain Panel Loader 30L) First Look and Review

We first heard about the EVERGOODS on Facebook, and shortly after that they opened their KickStarter Campaign.  We chose to go with the MPL30 (Mountain Panel Loader 30L).

We were order #99 and were able to get the Early Bird Pricing.  The pack was originally scheduled to be shipped out in December, but usually KickStarter projects are a little late.  We received it in February, so they weren't too far off, and they kept us up to date on exactly what was going on.  Great job Jack and Kevin!

The pack came with a sticker and a few notes from Jack and Kevin, nice touch!  The pack also had final tags that look like it is ready to be sold on a store shelf.

EVERGOODS MPL30 Pack

Originally the pack was to be built in the USA, which we were very excited about, but that didn't work out.  With that being said the quality is still spot on.

On the front of the pack there is a 2" x 2" velcro loop area where a patch can be placed.

The MPL30 comes with a integrated waist belt.

The way the hip belt is setup there are 2 pockets on each side of the pack that can be accessed while wearing the pack.

The only change I would like to see with the waist belt is that there needs to be some way to retain the excess webbing from the waist strap.

Both sides of the pack also have compression straps.

One thing I like about the compression straps are that the zippers can be used without having to disconnect the straps.  This allows the straps to sewn into the pack.

The compression straps also have a way to hold the excess webbing after they are pulled tight.

I like how the pulls on the zippers feel, but I did have one untied when I received it.  It was easy enough to re-tie.  The zippers seem very strong and work great.

At the bottom of the main pocket zipper there is a small loop, that you can hold when pulling the zipper closed.  This is a great small detail.

The shoulder straps are padded very well.

The sternum strap is adjustable.  The retaining system for the strap is different than I have seen before, but it seems to hold well.

The pack has 2 handles, one on the top and another on the side.

The side handle is only on one side, and they are both very comfortable.  The one on the side allows access to most of the pockets when holding it on that side.

All pockets have a lighter material, that makes it easy to find items.  The top pocket has a lot of room, and will be great for items you would like protected a little.

The front pocket is also very roomy.

When unzipping both main compartment zippers you are able to open the entire front of the pack.  This allows for easy access to the entire pocket.

The small top pocket includes a clip for keys or other small items.

The pocket in the pack is very stretchy and soft.  This is a great location for a laptop, notebook, water bladder, or anything else you want to be held in place a little better.

The bottom corners are also cut out so dirt and dust doesn't get stuck in the bottom of the pocket.

At the top of the pack inside is a small loop for connecting a water bladder or any other items you would like to clip in.  There is also a pocket with velcro to hold the plastic frame sheet with an aluminum stay.

The straps have an access hole to allow a tube from a hydration bladder to pass through.  This could probably be used for headphones or power cables also.

Here are a few size comparisons to my GORUCK GR1 26L.

EVERGOODS MPL30 Pack vs GORUCK GR1

The EVERGOODS pack is a little skinnier and taller, but it seems to sit up higher on my back than the GORUCK GR1.

In conclusion, I love the pack.  It is built very well.
The main thing with this pack is it fits very, very, well.  It honestly just feels like it was meant to fit my back.  I have a few different brands of packs but this one just fits the best.

I can't wait to put this one through its paces, and report back.
